SJL lesson - Parwood

Finally a lesson to work on the exciting stuff after months of practicing prelim standard tests preparing for Badminton.  This lesson was focused on Advanced Medium - definitely making steps closer to giving this a go!  End of the summer is realistic hopefully!

Mostly today we worked on getting him super soft and accepting as just can't get the higher level work out of him if he's not soft and listening.

We did a bit of early work on canter pirouettes which he was really getting the idea of and trying hard.

We also tried the steeper half pass into flying change in AM98.  Definitely work in progress but he tried hard.

And after lots of softening work we did the canter half pass right which was way better than before too.

Single change:

Still having a few issues with left changes in that he is tending to get a bit tense, jump together behind then change cleanly:

We finished with a line of 4 time changes - first time I've tried more than two in a row and he was awesome - each one clean, straight and on the aids.  He's such a little superstar!

We are definitely aiming for Advanced Medium by the end of the summer and have this wild aim of PSG at some point in the future if he stays happy and keeps trying hard.
