jumping at home 22-04-16

Started with building 2 poles on a single jump block to replicate fence 3 at Badminton - he did this well both ways but did notice on the right rein he often landed on the left lead which made it harder to turn to the right.

Then built myself some angled brushes and practised jumping straight down the 2 angles like last year's Badminton.  He was a bit looky at first which proves he needs to do this stuff often to keep being ok with it.  I had him in draw reins after our lesson with Chris on Wed and when he tried to run out at the 2nd left angle, the draw reins caught him and I actually managed to get his head back under control and jump the fence.  More schooling over angles in draw reins is definitely required.  He needs to learn running out is not the easiest option.
