Spent a while working on the medium trot down the long side and across the diagonal working on keeping him soft and then asking for a bit more for just a few strides then back again before he started to run. Definitely much better when can keep the softness in front and therefore softness over his back. Need to remember to work on it as am rubbish at working on the things we are bad at at home!
Also worked on changes on the 3/4 line to work on his straightness and keeping the softness after each change to try and keep softness in the tempi changes. Keep hands up and sit up!
In the walk piris have to stop him stepping wide behind, esp to the right. Had to keep him doing a large walk piri around something on the ground and just get him to keep going - he was terrible about shifting my weight to the outside so really have to try and focus on keeping my weight down to the inside.
In the trot shoulder-in, work on the 3/4 line again for straightness, dont ask for too much angle, it really isn't that much. Keep the outside rein and be able to give away the inside rein. Did some lovely travers - he likes that. In the half pass keep the activity and don't ask for too much sideways - must go forwards as much as sideways and keep active. Don't let him take over.
